6 week exemption permit available on application to allow consecutive days of watering outside of restricted guidelines to help establish drought tolerant turf varieties only.

Recommended watering schedule for establishment:
First 2 weeks – 4 times/day
Next 2 weeks – 2 times/day
Remaining 2 weeks – once/day

Following the exemption period, lawns can continue to be watered with town supplies by means of a hand held hose with a trigger nozzle or automatic sprinkler system between applicable hours on appointed two days week.

Coliban Water (Echuca, Rochester, Tongala, Lockington)
Stage 2

28 day exemption permit available for new turf establishment for any home owner who has a greywater system, borewater or a tank storage system set up to sustain their new turf investment after the initial 28 day water exemption period. Lawn watering from potable supplies not permitted thereafter.

Goulburn Valley Water (Shepparton, Mooroopna, Nagambie, Cobram, Nathalia, Numurkah, Kyabram)
Stage One

28 day exemption permit available to allow consecutive days of watering outside of restricted period for new turf establishment.

Thereafter, lawn watering permitted every second day based on the odds and evens system.

Manual sprinklers can be used on specified alternate days between
6am – 8am and 8pm – 10pm.

Automated sprinkler systems can only be used on alternate days between midnight and 4am.
