Sir Walter - The Only Choice for the Home Lawn

Sir Walter Soft Leaf Buffalo is so soft and lush you need to see it to believe it! Only then will you understand why Sir Walter is our number one selling turfgrass choice for residential home owners. It is the most versatile turfgrass currently in the Coolabah Turf product range because it will thrive in shade and full sun (all other varieties need full sun). To take advantage of Sir Walter's softside, you need to mow it higher than other turf varieties - approx. between 30mm-50mm.

Sir Walter is the perfect grass for you if you want something low maintenance that won't invade your garden bed or need chemicals to manage its growth, or if you need a turf with salt tolerance to endure wet areas around your new pool.

Village Green - Superior Winter Performer

Village Green is a superior performing winter active Kikuyu turfgrass variety, and is the first patented variety of Kikuyu in the world. For lovers of common Kikuyu - (which normally - is like the Collingwood Football Club - you either love it or hate it!) Village Green is a must have! It can be best described as a Kikuyu that has been bred on performance enhancing drugs, similar to a sporting champ on steroids! It grows faster than normal Kikuyu, which means less water required for establishment and a faster rate of repair if it gets damaged from general wear and tear. It will retain its vibrant colour during winter when most other common Kikuyus are brown and lifeless, and it has a finer, more glamourous looking leaf which actually makes it look more like a fine Rye or Fescue. Village Green is brilliant for high traffic areas including public access parks & gardens, playgrounds, caravan parks, nature strips, and recreation reserves.

Santa Ana Couch - Great for Sports

Santa Ana Couch is a great grass if you want the ball to bounce in your backyard test match! It is however, primarily a turfgrass suited to professional sports turf surfaces, including golf, bowls, tennis, cricket and majority of our region's premier sports fields and major stadiums. Santa Ana is at the extreme end of the spectrum when compared to Sir Walter in that it is a very fine leaf, which can be mown down as short as 10mm in height for sports applications or around 25mm mark for residential use. Santa Ana Couch looks awesome if mown with a cylinder mower and needs to be grown in full sun environments only.
