North Melbourne Football Club is proud to endorse and announce a formal partnership forged this week with Victorian turf supply company, Coolabah Turf.
North Melbourne has joined forces with Coolabah Turf to give back to the community and to celebrate one of life’s simple pleasures – the enjoyment of an instant luscious lawn, and in particular grassroots football, green space in schools and the importance of the humble Aussie backyard.
The partnership will focus on engaging the club’s members and fans, raising awareness of the many mental and physical health benefits associated with nature and instant lawn landscapes.
North CEO Ben Amarfio said sometimes the grass IS greener on the other side.
“Together – we are promoting active lifestyles, healthy communities and lawns for life,” Amarfio said.
“It’s an exciting partnership that will see our club give back to even more of our members and our local communities.”
“I think we all felt the pinch of being indoors last year and if it means we can increase and improve the quality of greenspace environments for our kids, our families and our communities then it’s a great result, he said.
“We’re thrilled to have such a purpose-led and values focused organisation like Coolabah Turf onboard.”
Coolabah Turf Marketing Co-ordinator, Stacey Fraser this week said a career in Aussie rules footy and the privilege of training on an AFL standard footy field (like the MCG and Arden Street) was only made possible for a committed few after spending countless hours in infant development years running, jumping, falling, kicking and playing in their own backyards.
“AFL sporting heroes are born in Aussie backyards long before they hit the big time of professional elite level sport. Here at Coolabah Turf, we are all about celebrating the great Aussie backyard and grassroots footy in our local communities,” Fraser said.
Coolabah Turf, is located in Northern Victoria and prides itself on producing sustainable natural turf and instant lawn landscape solutions for residential, council and commercial landscape customers across the state.
The world class instant turf production and distribution company is one of the largest producers of turf in Australia and comprises more than 200 hectares and employs 45 people.
“We don’t just sell lawns, we change lives,” Fraser said.
“Our work enables the creation of quality green spaces, and encourages people to connect with nature, families, friends and the great outdoors to improve and increase health, wellbeing, social interaction and personal and community pride,” she said.
