Often, without even realising it, our lawns are susceptible to grubs and insects that make a meal out of the healthy turf we’ve worked hard to keep looking its best. Some pests are so microscopic that we might not even notice they’ve taken up residence in our grass until the damage is already done, taking weeks or months to repair. They say the best defense is a healthy offense and here we offer the star player in the market for safe and effective pest control: Acelepryn GR. Acelepryn provides lawn lovers with unmatched, season-long protection against the most common of lawn damaging pests while being safe for use around pets and other welcomed organisms living in and around your lawn.
What is Acelepryn GR?
Acelepryn GR is an insecticide for the control of grubs, caterpillars and other insects that are damaging to our lawns. The advanced granulated formula protects your grass whilst having little impact on those outdoor-loving creatures we do want in our yards, like bees and pets. The formula is exempt from the poisoning schedule which means PPE equipment requirements are reduced and the insecticide is safe for domestic use. The product works by being absorbed into the soil where it then moves up through the plant stem, protecting your lawn above from below the surface where the damage starts. The new no-spray granulated formula is easy to apply with minimal watering in and lasts for up to 6 months, meaning you get to sit back and enjoy your lush green lawn knowing it's protected.
Acelepryn active ingredient
The active ingredient used in Acelepryn is Chlorantraniliprole (2g/kg). It is a reduced risk pesticide that is safe for use on home lawns and works to target the specific non-desirable creeping and crawling pests making a meal out of your grass. The ingredient works by targeting the muscle receptors specific to lawn damaging organisms whilst remaining essentially non-toxic to other mammals, insects and birds whose muscle receptors are not susceptible to this type of biological attack. Since launching, Chlorantraniliprole has proven itself the go-to industry leader for the purpose of controlling lawn damaging grubs and caterpillars in a safe and effective way, meaning you can keep your grass healthy and green knowing that your pets and children are still safe to play.
Why is grub control important?
Prevention is always better than a cure and when it comes to our loved and well looked after lawns we don’t want to mess around. In fact, the healthiest lawns are the tastiest targets to grass damaging pests and often by the time we notice something is up, extensive damage has already been done. Recovering from a grub attack can take weeks or months, not to mention extensive insecticide application, so being proactive with our lawns’ health here is the key. Controlling grubs and insects proactively allows your hard earned green space to remain healthy and looking great without the need for nasty knock down insecticides and months of recovery.

How to apply Acelepryn GR
To ensure your lawn is protected we recommend reading the instructions carefully so your application is effective and lasts.
Mow your grass prior to application and check that the ground is not saturated. Using a calibrated spreader to ensure an even coverage, spread the granules over your lawn and water in with a minimum 3mm of irrigation. A 10kg bag should cover up to 1000m2 and protect your lawn for up to 6 months.
For targeted results, it’s a good idea to identify the type of pest you’re dealing with as this will affect the amount of product required and the best application time.
For Argentinian Scarabs and African Bug Beatles, use 1-2kgs of granules per 100m2 and apply from spring (mid-September) which is just before their peak hatching period. Apply the product evenly by hand or use a calibrated spreader. Then immediately water in with a minimum of 3mm.
When treating caterpillars (including Armyworms, Sodworms and Cutworms), by hand or using a calibrated spreader, evenly spread the granules over your lawn area at a rate of 1kg per 100m2. In this instance, mowing should be delayed for at least 24 hours and the product should not immediately be watered in. After 24 hours, water the granules in with at least 3mm of irrigation.
Is Acelepryn safe for dogs?
As one of the safest insecticides available on the market, Acelepryn is completely safe for dogs and other non-target organisms. Chlorantraniliprole, the active ingredient in Acelepryn, specifically targets the muscle receptors in non desirable, lawn damaging organisms whilst rendering it non-toxic for mammals like dogs and cats. This also includes other organisms welcome in our gardens, like bees, earthworms, birds and fish who do not use the same muscle receptors as the pests being targeted.
